• Mountain climbing the family-friendly Einsiedlerweg path (close to Hardegg) which was a simple round stroll and took me simply over two hours to complete – I beloved the beautiful views of Thaya River and the majestic Hardegg Citadel, that it took me close to the Czech border and the river! 
• Stopping by the attention-grabbing Customer’s Centre reward store – I beloved the distinctive animal and botanical picture books, and the helpful out of doors instruments which they’d on the market! 

19. Dürnstein

I assumed this historic city riverside city was very romantic! It was like discovering a hidden gem frozen in time, with its cobbled streets lined with fairly medieval buildings, a placing blue abbey tower, beautiful views of the Danube River and surrounding vineyards.

Positioned within the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Web site in Decrease Austria, I came upon that it was house to only 900 residents however Dürnstein Citadel is legendary as being the place the place King Richard the Lionheart of England was held captive in 1192! 

I stayed on the historic 4-star gem Lodge Richard Löwenherz and I marvelled on the iconic blue tower of its Baroque abbey, hiked as much as the well-known historic Dürnstein fort, and found charming outlets, and comfortable wine taverns to whereas away just a few hours!

• Sampling wine on the family-run Weingut Bohmer vineyard – I beloved their distinctive citrusy Sauvignon Blanc which I discovered was cultivated within the Frauengärten winery, it was significantly scrumptious!
• Eating on the rustic-chic restaurant Küffer Keller – I beloved the Mediterranean-like backyard, the aroma from the big charcoal grill, the all you’ll be able to eat salad bar and my dish of foraged portobello mushrooms which have been grilled with regionally grown herbs together with thyme, marjoram, and freshly picked wild garlic.
